Dedication

I am so proud of how far I have already come with this blog and I realised that I haven't thanked people who are directly responsible for its creation so…

First things first, shout out to God. I really thank Him for my life. When I look back I can’t not be thankful as my situation could always be way worse. I feel very blessed to be in a position where I can now go and use my experiences to help those in similar situations.

The Leicester people dem (you know who you be). I just want to thank you guys for investing so much into my health and wellbeing the way you do. From every annoying "Have you finished your 2 litres?" and "Have you used your medicine?" to every hospital visit you made, I thank you all. I also want to thank you guys for holding me accountable for making this blog as for a while it was just an idea I had without any real plan to make it happen. You guys even went above and beyond by starting to give blood, what more can I ask for in friends family?…the love I have for you guys is unmatched.

M - My best friend…my sister, you've been there from the get go and you're someone who's always making my health a priority. You’ve seen me at my worse and you never shy away from the challenge of encouraging me when I’m at my lowest, making me see the bigger picture and also pushing me to be the best version of myself. You set such a good example for me to follow and I thank God for your life.

The Oye’s - I just want to thank my family for raising me to be the woman I am today. You guys were the first people to show me that I do not have to be defined in any way by this condition. The support you have been giving to me, and the provisions you have been making for me never fail to go beyond my expectations (even at times I knew I didn’t deserve it). I love you all so so so much!!!

I’m dedicating this blog to all the sickle cell warriors all over the world who have been fighting since day 1. The ones who actually know and experience the things I write about. Keep pushing and keep defying the odds. I pray that we continue to find the strength to pull us through the toughest situations. I hope you take comfort in knowing that you’re not the only ones going through this.

Thank you all who read and share this blog. I really appreciate all the support you have given me and I hope you are able to learn a few things from me.

Stay healthy,

Tito xx
